I was really looking forward to receiving and playing with this Shi Yun erhu bow, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations.

The difference between this bow and the original Dunhuang bow that came with my student instrument is remarkable. It immediately opened up a much wider dynamic range, produced a noticeably warmer and richer tone, and provided excellent grip on the strings. High notes speak much more easily and consistently, making the instrument far more responsive and enjoyable to play.

The bow itself has excellent flexibility and balance. It's also obvious that Eason Music carefully selected a very straight bow and took great care in preparing and shipping the product.

What impressed me most is how this single upgrade transformed my old student-level Dunhuang erhu. It now sounds like a completely different instrument, with warmth, a broad dynamic range, and a level of responsiveness that makes playing significantly easier.

Highly recommended for anyone looking to get the most out of a student or intermediate erhu.

This bow will project the notes you play better than the average erhu bow. It is a step-up bow for all serious erhu players.

Quite disappointed had been rosin for past weeks but still can’t produce proper sound

Good bow. Better than the one that came with my Erhu. I have experience with violin, viola and Cello but only just started learning to play the Erhu. I may be able to judge it better when I am more experienced.

I bought the unbleached erhu bow to replace my current beginner's bow, and the difference in the bowing experience is amazing! I love this bow - the sound is both brighter and richer; the vibration caused by the bow on the strings make the bowing and fingering feels alive; and the stability of the bow at the head makes it easier for me (compared to my old bow) to hold the bow and to lean the horse hairs correctly against the strings creating a cleaner sound. Highly recommended!
